I just happened to take a closer look at the bookcase at the top of the steps the other day and noticed my book on Pysanky, a Russian tradition of decorating eggs using wax and layers of color. As I flipped through the book, the bold colors and repetition of line smacked me in the face. These beautiful patterns excite me. I look forward to exploring the meanings behind this art form and incorporating the technical aspects into my work.
